The Buick Encore vs Toyota CH-R
When you are trying to buy a new car, the sheer volume of options today can feel frustrating. Not because choice is a problem, but too much choice can lead to poor decisions. Today, we want to look at two very popular cars; the Toyota CH-R and the Buick Encore. Both make very impressive models to consider overall, but trying to make a choice on both can be a bit tough.
If you would like a little help choosing, let’s take a look at what matters.
Value
One issue that many have is that, at around $26,000 for the Buick Encore and around $24,500 on the Toyota CH-R, there’s a price discrepancy. The CH-R is also more cost-effective in terms of fuel costs. However, is it really a better value?
It depends, really. For one, the Buick Encore is, in our opinion, a safer and more durable car. It’s got a more comfortable, spacious interior, it offer much more impressive performance and it generally is more well-received by veteran and newbie drivers alike.
If you want to get better value in terms of parts, longevity, durability and general consistency in performance, then the Buick Encore is the vehicle for you.
Space
While the Buick Encore is a touch thinner than the Toyota CH-R, it’s got a good 4” or so in terms of height. This makes it a fun choice for those who are perhaps a bit too tall for the 61.6” height that the Toyota offers.
It’s also got a much larger passenger volume. With more space in just about every way that you might expect, it’s very easy to hop into the drivers’ seat of this and feel nice and comfortable. Other cars of this kind of make tend to feel like a bit of a cram with five people, but the Buick Encore manages it with relative ease.
Features
While both cars rank high on the safety requirements of a standard car, the Buick Encore just has more. A nicer interior, a cleaner infotainment system and a much more impressive handling makes it a fine choice for all manner of reasons.
Add in the fact that it’s so easy to use and the fact that it’s got such a comparable range of features, we think that safety is worth paying for. The general comparison between both cars’ features is very similar, but we think that with the cleaner, more spacious interior, stronger handling and reliable handling the Buick Encore just wins.
Both cars are very good options, and both will make sure you are left with a fine vehicle to try. In our opinion, though, the Buick Encore wins out. It’s got more energy and charisma than its competitor, and it generally offers a much more satisfying experience in terms of consistency.
