The 2020 Chevrolet Colorado or what a phenomenal mid-sized truck looks like
You can easily choose what the best feature of the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado is. Is it the modern, nimble exterior design? Or is it how customizable it is with 5 trims, 3 powertrains, and 3 body configurations to choose from? Or maybe the fact that with mid-level trims and above, the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado can rival any crossover in terms of interior comfort and luxury?
Tough call.
Let's take them one by one, get a little into the details and maybe we'll figure out Colorado's best feature.
First is the modern, sporty exterior look given by the high grille that narrows in size the lower it gets.
It gives the Colorado a slim demeanor although it's anything but. The shape of the grille and the truck's dominant presence make you feel this truck is ready for anything you throw at it.
Under the hood, the three powertrains range from fleet-oriented to punching-above-its-weight. The base engine is a tried-and-true 2.5-liter 4-cylinder that produces a respectable 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. It's been created with fleet purchases in mind and that's where the majority of orders will come from for the 2.5-liter engine.
Most retail buyers will go for the 3.6-liter V-6 that can belt out a massive 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. Coupled with a responsive 8-speed automatic, it's enough to give the 2020 Colorado upwards of 7,000 pounds of towing power.
But the maximum towing power lies with the third engine option. We're talking about an impressive 7,700 pounds that come with the addition of the 2.8-liter turbodiesel that will deliver 186 horsepower and a whopping 369 pound-feet of torque.
It looks the part, it has plenty of strength under its hood but the true wow factor is its interior.
Even the base Colorado model comes with some incredible standard features like a 7.0-inch color touch, both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, front bucket seats and a four-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a front USB port, daytime running lamps, air conditioning, the StabiliTrak electronic stability system, and the Teen Driver pack.
But most buyers will probably spring for the mid-level LT trim that bumps the color touch to 8.0-inches and adds perks like a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, the SiriusXM satellite radio, a 6-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an HD rear vision camera, remote locking tailgate, and remote keyless entry.
That's such an impressive list that many crossovers can't match it.
