The big name out of the three is the Traverse. Not only is it the biggest and most luxurious option from Chevrolet’s offer, but it also has a few “best in class” features, beating all of its competitors to the punch. One of these is its interior roominess. The three-rowed SUV is among the very few that can comfortably sit adults on the last row of seats. It might not be a good idea to pack three of them there, but for two average-sized people, there's plenty of room to feel comfortable even on long commutes.
Between the space made available for its passengers and the abundance of tech, Traverse is unbeatable when it comes to passenger comfort. A 7.0-inch touchscreen that can be upgraded to an 8.0-inch one allows you to control in infotainment system while Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hotspot, OnStar guidance with 4GE connection and USB ports for every row, 6 in total, are all standard features. The list of standard tech continues with Chevrolet’s own Teen Driver pack that allows parents to control variables like maximum speed, maximum audio volume and will track the car at all times plus send notifications in case of an accident happens.
One of Traverse’s biggest strengths is its unparalleled level of customization. Between the different trim levels that range from spartan to borderline luxurious and the two engine options, it's hard to think anyone in the market for s crossover SUV won't find a Traverse version that's perfectly catered to their individual needs.
Another best in class feature is the car’s cargo space. Behind the third row are an admirable 23 cubic feet, behind the second row you’ll get 58 cubic feet and if you fold all the rows down except the first one you get yourself a Tokyo studio at 98 cubic feet of cargo space. That is enough to carry the materials for almost any home-improvement project in one go, or around 100 clowns.
Traverse is powered by either a V-6 capable of producing 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque or a 2.0-liter turbo-4 that will give out 257 horsepower. Both powertrains make the SUV a dream to drive around town and on the highway, as long as you’re not looking for a sporty feel. But then again, what subcompact SUV prospective buyer would want that out of their car?
