Connecticut's Buick Sedan Headquarters
Sedans, although they took a heavy beating from crossovers in recent times, still attract a respectable number of buyers every year. New times come with new needs, and some car manufacturers have adapted their vehicles to the new reality with flying colors. One of them is Buick with their hyper versatile sedan line-up made up of the Cascada, Regal, and LaCrosse trio.
LaCrosse is considered as one of the most traditional sedans out there. It keeps alive the values of the old but dresses them up in modern clothes and comforts. This model is built for comfort, as all sedans of old were. It has elegant styling in and out, a roomy interior and it offers an incredibly quiet driving experience, which makes it able to compete with luxury models that come with much higher price tags.
Buick completely redesigned the model in 2017 and last year they gave it a modern addition in the form of a new hybrid powertrain that today comes as standard. It comes in the form of a 2.5-liter inline-4 paired with an electric motor and a 6-speed automatic that will produce 194 horsepower and 187 pound-feet of torque. A powerful 3.6-liter V6 is also available. It will put out 310 horsepower and it will make the LaCrosse feel sporty and able both in the city and on the open road.
Its classy interior hosts one of the best-looking synthetic leather on the market today, regardless of price bracket, and makes good use of soft-touch materials and the sporadic chrome trim. A long list of standard features comes with each model, the most note wordy being an 8.0-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, power-adjustable front seats, an eight-speaker audio system, and the 18-inch alloy wheels.
The LaCrosse is a good family car and it’s also a good, fuel-friendly car to drive on a commute that will still impress your colleagues when you get there.
One for the daredevil soul with a calculated mind is the Cascade. It attracts with an appealing exterior and the promise of open-top driving at a reasonable price. The family man's convertible that will give you all the thrills you look for without asking for the price of looking ridiculous while chasing them.
The Cascade has a beautiful exterior with smooth lines complimented well by the 20-inch wheels. Under the hood is a 1.6-liter engine that produces 200 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. Paired with a 6-speed automatic is offers a comfortable ride.
The overall pampering feel is completed by the enormous list of standard features. Leather upholstery, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for complete smartphone integration, keyless ignition, a rearview camera, heated steering wheel, Bluetooth, a wi-fi hotspot and a navigation system will be fitted even on the most basic Cascade models.
Last, but certainly not least, is the Regal. A German-rooted sedan on account of its Opel origins, a company formerly owned by General Motors, the Regal impressed with both excessive comfort and versatility.
To begin with there are two versions of the model, a hatchback and a wagon. Both are extremely roomy inside, but the wagon takes the cake with its massive 73.5 cubic feet of cargo space available behind the first row of seats, a number large enough to rival and even exceed some small SUVs (for example the VW Tiguan has less cargo space than that although its overall size is substantially bigger).
The model which debuted in 1973 came a long way in its 40+ years on the market and today comes equipped with an impressive list of standard features, out of which we’d like to point out the 7.0-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, the keyless ignition, and the USB port. The base model also comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, OnStar 4G LTE hotspot, and emergency assistance and a system that allows parents to limit certain car features when their teens are behind the wheel.
Two powertrains are available, a standard 2.0-liter turbo 4 that produces 250 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque with the all-wheel-drive version and 260 with the forward-wheel drive one and the upgrade, a 310-horsepower producing 3.6-liter V6.
