Buick Envision 2021 – the light at the end of a tough year
Next year, at least when it comes to cars, things will be better.
That is because Buick decided to completely reimagine the Envision and give it a slicker, better defined, and more aggressive look.
As with the previous rendition, the SUV will come in four different trim levels, ranging from Basic to Preferred, to Essence, and finally the top-of-the-line Avenir.
The 2021 Envision will be longer by 1.8 inches and wider by 1.7, making it a little bit more spacious. The added legroom makes it one of the most comfortable rides in its class.
Safety features
As far as safety features go, there’s plenty. Future owners can depend on systems like Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Following Distance Indicator, plus the higher trim models will feature a Head-Up Display and a 360-degree Camera System.
Another safety feature future Envision owners will benefit from is the Safety Alert Seat. It alerts the driver of a possible hazard or imminent collision by vibrating on either side, enhancing awareness on the road, and cutting down response time.
Finally, the Rear Seat Reminder doesn’t allow passengers to forget their valuables on the back seat when exiting the vehicle.
Faster than the previous model?
The engine specs for the 2021 model have yet to be released. That being said, Buick did mention a turbocharged 2.0-liter powertrain which is likely a carryover of the currently available upgrade that produces 252 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
If they decide to cut the current 197-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder base engine and replace it with the more powerful options, the Envision will be in line with Buick’s strategy of becoming a premium brand name that produces top-end vehicles only.
Whatever the choice of standard engine might be, expect a powerful, fast car that will likely come with the option of at least one engine upgrade.
Standard features and interior
In terms of standard features, the new Envision will come with the same responsive color 8.0-inch touchscreen that can be upgraded to a 10.0-inch infotainment system on the Avenir top trim.
With the top part of the dash home to the sleek color touch and an easy to read instrument panel, every control is easily accessible to the driver.
A panoramic glass roof, contrast-stitched brown and black leather with laser-engraved accents come standard to give everyone behind the wheel the sense that with the new Envision, luxury is guaranteed for every trim.
Just like the previous model, there’s great emphasis placed on driver and passage comfort. Perks like a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, a built-in air ionizer, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth music streaming, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and second-row amenities such as USB ports and HVAC climate controls make riding inside the Envision a very plush experience.
