All safety and connectivity features on the brand-new 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer
After a 12-year hiatus, the Trailblazer nameplate is revived on a very different automobile. A small-sized crossover that offers a sporty driving experience and a plush interior, all for a very affordable price tag.
Sitting between the Trax and the Blazer in Chevrolet's crossover lineup, the Trailblazer is simply a bundle of joy that over-delivers at every turn.
From the powerful, reliable powertrains, to the plethora of safety and connectivity features, the newly designed Trailblazer is a bargain.
Before we get into the details of safety and connectivity, let’s first take a general look at the Trailblazer so you can fully appreciate just how good the new model has become.
First up are engine choices. Between the 1.2-liter turbocharged I3 with its continuously variable transmission, capable of producing 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, and the 1.3-liter I3 that bumps the power up to 155 hp and 174 pound-feet of torque. Good figures, especially considering the Trailblazer’s small size.
At 54.4 total cubic feet of cargo space, there’s also plenty of room inside, with even second-row passengers able to sit comfortably and plenty of legroom all-round.
Inside, the Trailblazer is luxurious and made up of soft-touch materials as far as the eye can see.
But where the new model shines are connectivity and safety.
Even base models come with Chevrolet’s newest infotainment system that’s very intuitive to use and highly responsive. Part of that system is a 7.0-inch color touch that can be upgraded to an 8.0-inch one and both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Future owners can also rely on Bluetooth audio streaming, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and both USB-A and USB-C ports for tablet, phone, and laptop charging and connectivity.
All Trailblazer models are also equipped with a suite of safety features, the most notable ones being Automated Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane-Keep Assist and Lane-Departure Warning, Following |Distance Indicator, and High Beams.
That’s a standard features list most luxury SUVs can’t match and we expect the 2021 Trailblazer to score top safety marks on every test the model will be subjected to later this year.
Not to mention that for an extra $620 you can fit both the Adaptive Cruise Control and a mirror-based rearview camera or for an extra $345 the coveted active safety feature – Blind-Spot Monitoring.
If you’re in the market for a brand-new, dashing, exceptionally safe, and highly entertaining small-sized crossover, then look no further than the Trailblazer. It’s got everything your heart desires and more!
