Here at O'Neill's Chevrolet Buick in Avon we’ve been selling Chevrolet cars for several decades and in all that time, we haven’t seen an SUV as well-rounded as the 2021 Tahoe.
And we’re not the only ones with this impression either.
As a matter of fact, we dare you to find a negative review out there about the 2021, fifth-generation Tahoe. Anything short of “this is a spectacular SUV” actually.
But what makes everyone sign Tahoe’s praises? Dig into this 3-minute article and you’ll find out.
Class-leading interior space and exceptional comfort
The Tahoe got completely updated for the 2021 model year. And, apart from a stylish new exterior that sports a wide grille with boomerang running lights on each side, that also means there are a lot of technical upgrades as well.
The Tahoe is now fitted with a new four-wheel independent suspension plus magnetic dampers which, combined, promise the best ride experience yet.
It’s interior space also got a boost to reach a whopping 168 total cubic feet, of which 123 can be turned into cargo space if the second and third row of seats are folded – 28 more than the outgoing model had to offer. That's enough room to carry an entire Ikea bedroom in one go and a class-leading figure.
Second and third-row passengers enjoy most of the added spaciousness as the first row was already lavish when it came to legroom.
V-8s plus one of the very few diesel engines available in its class
Every Tahoe comes with a standard 5.3-liter V-8 engine that’s able to belt out a cool 355 horsepower.
Two upgrades are available. One is the massive 6.2-liter V-8 that will net you 420 horsepower, which is more than enough for in-city and highway drives, plus off-road adventures and hauling.
What sets the Tahoe even further apart from many of its competitors is the available 3.0-liter inline-6 turbodiesel that will produce 277 horsepower and an incredible 460 pound-feet of torque. It’s a game-changer for large, active families in need of a large SUV that still want to be mindful of fuel consumption.
Modern tech for maximum safety and entertainment
A family car must be a safe car before anything else.
That’s why Chevrolet included some of the most advanced active safety features on all Tahoe trims, even on base models. So, all future owners will benefit from the Automatic Emergency Braking system with Pedestrian Detection and the Forward Collision Alert.
Available as upgrades are the Active Lane Control System, a Surround-View Camera System, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Satisfying modern families means you have to entertain them, so the 2021 Tahoe comes with a 10.0-inch color touchscreen as part of its infotainment system, both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Bluetooth, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and multiple charging USB ports throughout the cabin.
Tahoe is a truck-like, full-size SUV that’s unapologetic of its character and dimensions. A breath of courage in an otherwise bland sea of crossovers that delivers a commanding presence and one of the most comfortable rides possible.
A tamed workhorse that will keep you and your loved one entertained and safe, the Tahoe will inevitably be a buyers’ favorite.
