Chevrolet 2021 Tahoe – Full-sized SUV royalty
Chevrolet completely transformed the Tahoe for the 2021 model year and will soon launch the brand-new SUV under the tagline “bigger, better, bolder”.
And don’t you know it... the 2021 Tahoe is bigger, better, bolder.
New exterior look and extra interior comfort
What’s a new model without a new look?
The 2021 Tahoe is sleek, modern, and very well balanced despite its enormous size. The two strips of LEDs in the front cut into the massive grille which helps a lot to give it a slenderer look.
Despite the overhaul, the 2021 Tahoe is still an imposing presence on the road and many drivers will probably get out of your way the second they’ll spot you in their rear-view mirror.
For the new model year, the Tahoe expands in length to provide more third-row passenger legroom plus extra cargo space. With all seats up, future owners get 25.5 cubic feet of cargo space, and with the second and third-row folded, a whopping 122.9 cubic feet.
Excellent engine options
For an SUV this size nothing short of a V-8 will do and Chevrolet gives prospective buyers two options. One is the standard powertrain, a 5.3-liter V-8 that can produce 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, enough to tow upwards of 8,400 pounds, placing the abilities of this SUV in pickup truck territory.
The second, larger V-8 is reserved for the top trim only, the High Country. It’s a 6.2-liter that can churn out an impressive 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
In waiting is also a 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel that will be introduced later this year. It can deliver 277 horsepower and an outstanding 460 pound-feet which will come in handy for any towing job.
Both V-8 engines tap the same 10-speed automatic and it’s still unclear which transmission the diesel will be paired with.
Features... tons of them
Future Tahoe owners get a huge set of standard features ranging from safety to entertainment and connectivity.
Base models come with Automated Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Automatic Headlights, Rear-seat Reminder, and Parking Alerts. The full list of features for the base model is yet to be released, but we know that of the LT middle trim which includes a ten-way power-adjustable and heated front seats, keyless access and ignition, wireless smartphone charging, a nine-speaker BOSE premium audio system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-trimmed front seats plus 6 USB port, two for every row of seats.
At O'Neill's Chevrolet Buick in Avon, Connecticut, we’ll have the 2021 Tahoe model on sale as soon as Chevrolet makes it available to the market which will be later this year. We’ll make sure to order all trim levels and all available colors so all prospective Tahoe buyers can find the perfect rendition to meet their needs.
